Practical scope and examples

Start with your real export

Upload an unmodified product CSV from your store. FeedDoctor recognizes common legacy Handle / Variant columns and modern URL handle / SKU / Price columns. It does not connect to your Shopify account or change your catalog. Market-specific columns, custom metadata and third-party export formats can require extra preparation; the original file always remains available.

Keep every variant distinct

Each sellable variant becomes a separate offer using its explicit SKU as the product ID. Missing or duplicate SKUs are reported instead of receiving invented replacements. The product handle supplies the group relationship. Blank title, description or primary image cells may inherit from the same handle; image-only continuation rows are counted as context and are not treated as extra products.

Use verified currency and links

Shopify amounts do not establish the store currency. Supply your verified ISO code to convert prices. Without it, price fields remain empty and errors explain what needs attention. An optional verified store URL can produce a product-handle link. That link may still need variant and market parameters; inspect the actual destination before submitting the export to Google.

Interpret inventory conservatively

Availability is mapped from an explicit Shopify inventory tracker and a numeric available quantity. A positive tracked quantity maps to in_stock; a non-positive quantity with a deny policy maps to out_of_stock. Continue-selling settings, missing tracking and uncertain backorder conditions remain unresolved. This adapter does not reconstruct inventory across multiple locations or guess a delivery date from a purchasing policy.

Review manufacturer and barcode facts

A vendor is not automatically the manufacturer brand. Legacy barcode fields are analyzed as supplied; a single explicitly typed modern GTIN, UPC, EAN or ISBN can be mapped. Multiple or custom barcode values need manual review. HTML descriptions become visible text, excluding scripts and styles. These conversions are shown in the mapping notes rather than being presented as unchanged source values.

Preview, repair and download

The panel below shows mapped attributes, contextual rows and findings. Select only safe changes after comparing before and after values. Download a Shopify CSV analysis report, the untouched original and the Merchant-format export. The export contains mapped attributes, not a Shopify re-import template. Remaining errors and missing facts stay visible; conversion does not mean the file is ready for approval.

Check the target market

The base Price column is used with your supplied currency; an international market price is never selected automatically. Review unpublished or archived products, variants, image suitability, shipping and taxes yourself. Country and category requirements can differ. For all findings, filtering, pagination and a full change history, use the main analyzer. Files expire under the same temporary-storage policy, normally after 60 minutes.
